KVR One Synth Challenge – Feldspar Update

OSC 53

Feldspar is the featured synth in the 53rd One Synth Challenge – a monthly contest which runs on the KVR Audio forums where participants are required to produce a piece of music using only one syntheiszer for all the sounds.

As it turns out, quite a few people were having problems with Feldspar crashing when running more than one instance in a VST host – updated versions of Feldspar and FeldparFX with the bug fixed are uploaded here.

    Hi Chris,

Feldspar is an amazing synth – it sounds absolutely fantastic. I’m so glad to have had a chance to compose a track with it. In fact, I won the KVR OSC #53 with a track titled: z.prime – Memories composed entirely with your synth.

I am also indebted to you for your kindness giving Blarg to each entrant. There hasn’t been a more generous donor in OSC history, to my knowledge.

I would very much like to have a version of Feldspar that I can use on multiple tracks and doesn’t breach the integrity of my host, however. Something about the particular Synthedit versions used results in serious instability of my host, even with a single instance of Feldspar included. I would be happy to email you or post on KVR forums if this would be easier.

Thanks for an awesome synth, though! :)

I purchased Feldspar many years ago and it has done this to me as well. I can only use one instance of it for each track or my audio goes out, which is a shame considering this synth sounds so kick ass!

This is still one of my favorite synths regardless of the major glitch – and I only paid like $10 for it. (Yeah it’s free now)

Did you try re-downloading the current version of Feldspar? I updated it during the course of the contest to hopefully address the issues with stability and with multiple instances loaded.

Anyways, congrats on winning – it’s a really nice track!

Any one synth can be used, free or commercial + No samples other than single cycle waveforms allowed even if the synth has a feature to use those.
